CMBL 1ST FELLOWSHIP CUP 2004
After the success of CMBL Season One, that same year followed a 2nd league but with a different name. The league was called 1st Fellowship Cup. It's purpose is to deepen more the relationship of each team participants, but sadly it was soon discovered to be penetrated by other teams with different purpose and motives. Due to the unavailability of the gyms, the league was forced to rent the close gym of Tuba, Benguet. Tuba gym became the host of the league from elimination up to the championship. There has been also a change in the officiating. From BRONPHIL group of referees to BAP through the recommendation of the CMBL teams. The participants are three (3) business trade names and five (5) christian churches, namely:
Teams
A2J
TOTAL (La Trinidad Benguet)
DWLY-FM
Music World
1st Assemblies of God
CBCF Team A and Team B
Eternal Spring
After the elimination round, the teams that we're included in the final four are:
A2J
TOTAL (La Trinidad Benguet)
Music World
DWLY-FM
In the finals, only the top two teams remained and proved their worth. The A2J team we're very young and talented individuals, and played their peak performance during the championship. While team TOTAL are group of individuals relying on their experience as veteran players. Both showed their expertise in team basketball, but at the end only one remained to claim the trophy. It was a bloody battle, but team TOTAL had won the CHAMPIONSHIP. These are the following awards given to the Top four teams:
TOTAL = CHAMPIONS
A2J = 1st Runner-Up
Music World = 2nd Runner-Up
DWLY-FM = 3rd Runner-Up
Other Awards:
Raymund Tufay = MVP
Due to the new restriction of CMBL in 2005, it states that "the league will not allow business trade names any longer to participate in the league". The league core has decided to discontinue Fellowship Cup in the following year and Team Total can not continue their championship legacy any longer due to the new restriction! Only christian church based teams are allowed to participate in the league.

CMBL SEASON TWO 2005
After the happy and painful experiences of 2004, CMBL league started 2005 right! From BAP, the league returned to BRONPHIL group of referees and the host venue of the league from elimination to championship is non other than Brent gym this time. Only four teams participated in the season two league, but still the teams enjoyed it because of the double elimination round format. The teams are:
Teams
A2J
DWLY-FM (not as business but as a ministerial group through radio broadcast)
CBCF
JCLOW
After the elimination round, the same teams meet in semi-finals (so, it was not a double elimination after all but a triple elimination round, hehehe).
In the championship A2J played with JCLOW. But in the end JCLOW humbled the A2J team (I think A2J team still feels the effect of their championship turn-out game in the Fellowship Cup league). But overall, praise God for the wonderful end and success of the Season Two league! These are the following awards given to the Top four teams:
JCLOW = CHAMPIONS
A2J = 1st Runner-Up
CBCF = 2nd Runner-Up
DWLY-FM = 3rd Runner-Up

CMBL SEASON THREE 2005
After Season Two, Season Three followed after a period of months. With BRONPHIL still tin he officiating and having three venues namely: Easter gym, Brent gym and Cooyeesan gym (for the first time). The are five teams participated during this season (supposed to be it's six teams, but CBCF withdrew after playing in the first game. The reason is the team was not permitted by their pastor to participate. Only their team leader and few of the players have decided to join [sad, very sad]). The teams are:
Teams
A2J
975ERS (not as business but as a ministerial group through radio broadcast)
Ablazing Lights Ministries (from their former name JCLOW)
ABF-BFC
Eternal Spring
CBCF (withdrew after playing the first game)
After the elimination round one team have been eliminated and four teams move on the next round (semi-finals). The Top four teams are:
A2J
975ERS
Ablazing Lights Ministries
Eternal Spring
After the semis, the top two teams moved on to the championship round. Ablazing Lights and A2J played their best on a knock-out round championship game. But in the end the A2J won back their confidence and winning their second title again as CMBL Champions. To God be the glory! These are the following awards given to the Top four teams:
A2J = CHAMPIONS

CMBL Invitational Cup (2nd Exhibition Game) 2006
After blow by blow battle against different basketball teams, it's time to mellow down. Unlike the first exhibition game, the Invitational Cup was a little bit of different approach. Using a traditional format, (double elimination round usually used in high school leagues) every game went on smoothly. The Invitational Cup purpose is to invite christian church based teams to experience live CMBL game simulation. The venues are St. Vincent gym (during the elimination round) and Easter gym (during the semis and finals). BRONPHIL still handled the officiating. The teams that participated are:
Teams
975ERS (not as business but as a ministerial group through radio broadcast)
Bethesda Ministries
ABF-BFC
Eternal Spring
Goodnews Fellowship - Dunamis
Goodnews Academy (composed of high school students)
Eventually, there are no final four due to the double elimination format (I told you, less stress, less expenses, hehehe). So the final two teams are Eternal Spring and Goodnews Fellowship - Dunamis. Each players of the teams played their peak . But as always only one remained to claim the victory. The championship trophy was given to the team of Dunamis - GNF! Thank God. These are the following awards given to the Top two teams:
Dunamis - GNF = CHAMPIONS
Eternal Spring = 1st Runner-Up

CMBL SEASON FOUR 2006
As expected, the numbers of participating teams have doubled through the Invitational Cup Exhibition game! This time the league's objective is to have two brackets. One bracket for Baguio and bracket for La Trinidad. Venues were Cooyeesan gym, CCDC gym and Easter gym. BRONPHIL still manage the officiating. As for the La Trinidad bracket, the Church of the Nazarene played with the Assemblies of God-Puguis in their championship game. AG-Puguis won over Church of the Nazarene to capture the first ever champions of the La Trinidad bracket.
In January of 2007, the top two teams of both brackets crossover for the final match-up game. But in the overall scope, A2J won their final trophy and added to their collection of achievements as one of the best teams in the CMBL league history! Glory to God. CMBL SEASON FIVE 2007
After the dramatic ending of Season Four, 2007 is a new and fresh start for CMBL Season Five! With a new group of referees by the name of CBRA, under the leadership of Mr. Bert Emiliano. CBRA group is composed of young and new referees that came also and was trained from the group of BRONPHIL! Venues we're Cooyeesan gym and Recolletos gym. These are the following teams that participated in Season Five:
Teams
CRF
Faith in Christ-ZOE
Praise Evangelical
Eternal Spring
CIA-IBC
KKM-LSF
This time, the CMBL core leaders decided to merge Baguio and La Trinidad bracket since there were few teams that participated. It's the first time that the league applied double round robin for six teams (well, since one of the venue is cheaper, hehehe) and it's also the first time that the league used a computerized generated software scoreboard (of course with the help Ptr Greg Rimando lending the league his hi-tech LCD projector. Thank God for your life pastor!).
Going back to the course of the league... In the final four, there we're:
CRF
ZOE-FCF
CIA-IBC
KKM-LSF
And in the top two, it was only ZOE-FCF and CIA-IBC left. But in the end, ZOE caught their first championship of the league since Season One (against A2J) Glory to God! These are the awards given to the following teams:
ZOE-FCF = CHAMPIONS
CIA-IBC = 1st Runner-Up
CRF = 2nd Runner-Up
KKM-LSF = 3rd Runner-Up
As in the comics, the CMBL epilogue: Notice that CIA-IBC is a strong team that always ends up in first runner-up. Let's see if what will be the next episode for this guys, (",)... Uyyy... i also notice CRF always ends up either in 2nd or 3rd runner-up, but will they reach to play also in championship? Abangan na lang ang susunod na kabata after this article, hehehe!

THE FIRST BATCH OF MYTHICAL FIVE - CMBL 2008
CMBL SEASON SIX 2008
Surely it's a good fresh start for CMBL in 2007. But 2008 is far more greater start (if not only for the two teams that had joined and with an attitude problems). CBRA still retains as the officiating of the league. Venue this time is Easter gym (from start to finish, naks!). In this season, eight (8) teams responded to the invitation (five (5) regular teams, two (2) new teams) and one (1) comeback team). The teams are:
Teams
CRF
Jubilee Sons
Praise Evangelical
Eternal Spring
CIA-IBC
KKM-LSF
Trinidad Baptist Church
Baguio Grace Gospel Church
In the elimination, it was a bloody game always with the team of Jubilee Sons (but it's good that they have not qualified in the final four, thank God!). So the final four are:
CIA-IBC
CRF
KKM-LSF
Eternal Spring
In the finals, only two teams had made it to the top (one of the team is it's first time to reach the finals, Ay salamat sa wakas!). But in the end, we know that this opportunity belongs to CIA-IBC team! At last, they won a championship title after a toe to toe with A2J and Zoe. But most of all, as our friend Pastor Eden said; "all for the Glory of God!". I say "Amen" to that pastor. These are the awards given to the following teams:
CIA-IBC = CHAMPIONS
CRF = 1st Runner-Up
Eternal Spring = 2nd Runner-Up
KKM-LSF = 3rd Runner-Up
Other awards:
Generoso Domondon = MVP
Jason Campos = Mythical Five (Best Forward)
Ephraim Cardenas = Mythical Five (Best Forward)
Michael Soriano = Mythical Five (Best Guard)
Aldhean Lardizabal = Mythical Five (Best Guard)
Samuel Abellera = Mythical Five (Best Guard)
Epilogue: CRF team did not won the championship, but thank God they made it first time as first runner-up! What's next?

THE SECOND BATCH OF MYTHICAL FIVE - CMBL 2009
CMBL SEASON SEVEN 2009
After a hectic games of Season Six and some dramatic moments, Season Seven was the perfect number for this year's league. It's a time of silence and contemplation for the teams, as once again only four teams responded to the invitation (due to the financial difficulties, other teams did not make it). CBRA is still the officiating (but has problems with their group) and the venue is still Easter College gym from start to finish! These are the teams:
Teams
CRF
Praise Evangelical
Eternal Spring
KKM-LSF
Again, since there are only four teams... we end up in a double elimination round (which is actually a triple elimination round, hehehe). In the finals, two teams rise to the occasion of vying for the championship title (because there is no defending champion in this season). A dramatic event occurred in the last 4.7 remaining seconds, as CRF is behind one (1) point against KKM-LSF (FYI, 83-84). The situation is under the CMBL rule of No Invective Rule or bawal ang mag-mura (thank God for Bro. Leo's invective rule, hehehe). According to one of the CRF player, he heard someone uttered a curse word or may nagmura. With careful evaluation and long discussion (it was the longest last seconds), finally both teams agreed to continue because of lack of evidence.
As the game resumed, the ball possession goes to CRF team and will make its inbound. But the KKM-LSF defense's is very tight and no one could get the ball to the open player of CRF. After the inbound, one of the CRF players Bryan Abellera (a rookie), caught the ball from the fallen hands of a teammate (from a fumble) and immediately without any hesitation he shoots the ball. As the ball drops inside the net (it's now 85-84), the bench of CRF team started to rejoice! Meanwhile with remaining 2 seconds left, KKM-LSF tried to make the last shot, but the time expires.
CRF team always ends-up in 4th or 3rd place, but thank God he had finally given CRF team the first championship title. And what's the lesson folks? Is it just all about winning a championship trophy? The answer is no! You see, the Lord taught this team ever since from humble beginnings up to winning a championship. It's not that easy, as Apostle Paul said; "But I discipline my body and keep it under control, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified." 1 Corinthians 9:27. As an advice, always put God first in your life and all these things you shall be added unto you! The CRF always desires to reach the championship game, but the team also can not deny the truth of putting God first above all things. All glory belongs to God! These are the awards given to the following teams:
CRF = CHAMPIONS
KKM-LSF = 1st Runner-Up
Eternal Spring = 2nd Runner-Up
Praise Evangelical = 3rd Runner-Up
Other awards:
Bryan Abellera = MVP
Robin Vallecerina = Mythical Five (Best Center)
Jason Campos = Mythical Five (Best Forward)
JR Aglano = Mythical Five (Best Forward)
Gary Gonzales = Mythical Five (Best Guard)
Paulo Rimando = Mythical Five (Best Guard)
Will the CRF team be able defend their championship title this coming season? Find out on the next season of CMBL Season eight! On August 15, 2010-Sunday from 3:30 PM-10 PM at Easter College Gym, Guisad road, Baguio City. Come one and come all, this is free admission. See you there!

CRF = CHAMPIONS
KKM-LSF = 1st Runner-Up

CMBL 2015 (11th Season)
The league was cancelled due to typhoon Lando that destroyed the broadcast antenna and damage the property of COOL 97.5 on October 19, 2015. CMBL is an extended ministry of COOL 97.5, for the benefit of the Evangelical Christian churches here in Baguio City and La Trinidad Benguet. Without COOL 97.5 to help the league, the tournament cannot continue. Thanks to the kind and considerate understanding of all team participants concerning the situation of COOL 97.5 during this time.
